About Penang's Potters

I'm starting this blog as a place where I can showcase the works, thoughts, creative visions and personal aesthetics of my friends and me. We're all potters and we all live on the island of Penang, in Malaysia.

For the last two years, Japanese teachers at the GardenKu Ceramic Art Centre have been organising the Penang Pottery Art Festival at the Centre, near the Botanical Gardens and thanks to their efforts, many people on the island have been introduced to the joys of pottery and working with clay. You can see some of our work and the festival events on Facebook at Garden Ku Pottery Class

Some of us, the older students, have progressed from learning the most basic pottery skills to producing works of our own and we also have a page at Penang Potters on Facebook, where we post pictures of our pieces for sale and for comment, as we believe that we should share our respective creative visions regarding our pottery.

I hope you'll drop by this blog from time to time as I'll try to post about what me and my friends are producing, how we're doing it, the thought processes behind our work and the aesthetic sense behind each of us and our pieces.

    1. Dear Samantha,
My sincere apologies for not having seen your post earlier. If you are in Penang, you can contact one of our FB members, Mr Pat Jaffray, who is giving pottery classes in batu Ferringhi area.
